week 5

I do agree that students learn based on their personality types. if they are extroverted they are more likely to be more outspoken, answer questions in front of the class and so on. if they are more introverted, they usually tend to do what is asked without having to talk outloud and and interact with other students. i think it would help the teachers know the difference in personalities so they are more able to recognize ahead of time who is like what. this could help in group assignments by putting people that arent the same personality in different groups.

Week 4

I love excel spreadsheet. my mom uses it everyday in her job as a production planner, so i have seen how it is used in business ways at Coca-Cola, and it is very useful. It makes things easier when having to perfom mulitply formulas on different things.
As a teacher it is useful because you can use it to add up grades. It is better to use over a calculator because if you needed to go back in a change one grade it will automatically re-calculate the grade, and change the letter as well. It provides a two-way analysis in order to be able to do accounting things, this is useful because you can look up things by rows and/or columns. your able to add graphs that can be useful because if any information is changed, as well the graph. The formlas will allow for teachers and those using numbers to better organize things into books.

week 3

I had never seen, or heard about the Inspiration program, and honestly, I think it is a great idea. I know that when I was in gradeschool, it was hard to understand how to make maps, outlines or really and organization. I didn't understand how it helped. I think this program will and does help students in many ways. I wish we had it when I was in school!'

I think research papers are the best use of technology. It makes the students think outside the box about where they are going to have to find their information. Students can help eachother with feedback and corrections by reading and reviewing their peer's papers. I have done it before in the classroom and it honestly helped me to see it in another student's point of view. You can use technology tools to help with feedback and review by maybe having a blog where they can post their papers, and students may comment on them. The first time I had to teach a new topic was a little scarry. I am a dance teacher, and I'm use to teaching high school girls. I was given a class of 3-4 yr old girls. My biggest fear was they wouldn't learn the necessary material to improve their skills. So I researched how to teach, and what to teach and ways they would learn the best. I'm in my 4th week and it has gotten so much easier!!

Chapter 6 Questions

What do you think about using blogs? What and how do you think blogs would be useful for education? Some people think using blogs in classrooms is a waste of students’ time. How would you respond?

I think blogs are a great idea. I think that blogs can be good for education in the sense that, a teacher could have a homework blog for students to post questions, or answers, or just talk about things, just like our discussion board. It's easier when you know that there are other students in the same situations. I don't think it's a waste of their time as long as their staying on topic. Some students might be too shy to ask questions in class, or in front of other people but this could be a good way for them to ask it and get a clear answer that they could even refer back to.

What are some ways that you could use he technology ideas in Chapter 6 to support your curriculum and student learners?

I think there are alot of good ideas mentioned in this chapter that could be used to help students with their academic curriculum. Alot of teachers say don't use Wiki anything but somethings I see it is a good idea, when it comes to things that you need insight from random people, or opinions is great. I think facebook and Myspace are great ideas if people are mature about it. It can cause alot of problems with dramatic people, but if used in a way for communities, churches, and organizations is great. They help you stay in touch with family as well.
